New Zealand help

I am just wrapping up my travel planning for a stop in Sydney for a week in July of this year. I was wondering if I could get some suggestions for a 4 day stay in New Zealand after I leave Sydney? I have my family with two girls ages 7 and 13 with me. What should I plan, to enjoy New Zealand and the people? I want to avoid any activaties that involve more flying though.

BC,

From Sydney you can fly direct to Auckland, Wellington or Christchursh. All three cities have different things to offer a visitor. Which city to you intend to fly into.

David

B.C. It really depends on what you'd like to do...if you're going into Auckland, there are several day trips that you can do from there, that will be out of the "big city", and the same holds true with Christchurch...but sigh...only 4 days in NZ isn't really enough..but then, it never IS is it?

Melodie

David the plans are to fly into Auckland. After arriving our schedule is very flexible. Any ideas for things a family would enjoy?

4 days is way too short but if its all you've got, why not hire a car and head to Rotorua for a few days.

Its not too far from Auckland( about 2-3 hours at most )

From there you can also visit the ski - fields for a days skiing.
