New Zealand Campers

What is expected cost of gas for a Camper trip of both islands in New Zealand?

Today's average petrol prices in NZ

https://www.gaspy.nz/stats.html

Keep in mind that's per liter, not per gallon.

I looked at my NZ trip report from 2018 - we logged 5,779 kilometers and fed our econo box Tiida NZ $660.37 in petrol in 31 days.

I didn't note the price per liter during that trip, but the km should give you an idea of how much ground one can cover in a month.

The camper company can probably provide average km per liter. If you have an itinerary in mind, you can check distances here, and then do the math.

How long is a piece of string...we need more information but gas is expensive here. How many kilometres are you planning on doing?
Does the campervan use petrol or diesel? Diesel is cheaper here and Wilderness Campers website says their vans do 100 km on 11 litres. So for a quick example an Auckland to Wellington straight through trip at 645 km (divided by 11 is 58 litres x $1.99) $115.00 for diesel.
Check your fuel requirements for the campervan first. Some regions petrol is quite a bit cheaper like Manawatu. I live in Auckland so have to pay top price although I alternate a good gas station like BP or Mobil with Gull which is cheaper.
