Diamantina and Melnq8,
No we didn't do the Christchurch to Oamaru. The drive outside of Queenstown on SH6 was great, we stopped a couple of times to admire the Lake, but after Kingston it was OK. Mind you, if you were any other place than NZ it would have been a spectacular drive, but we did have "jaded eyes" by this point. LOL

I had their #1 snakebite, a mix of berry cider and lager. It was actually fairly tasty - just barely sweet - and since I had tofu nasi goreng for dinner, which was pretty spicy, I was kind of thankful that the slight sweetness balanced the spices in my food.

Lee Ann, I've had some really nice fruit beers, and this "snakebite" combination doesn't seem it'd be too different. NZ alcoholic ciders can be too sweet so maybe the beer cuts the sweetness, making it more like a fruit beer
