Actually I agree with you. One of our trips was a 5 week driving holiday in America and it was noticeable how carefully (sedately even?) people drove. We never saw even the hint of careless or stupid driving yet in the hour it took us to get home from the airport in Melbourne we saw about 3 dangerous moves by impatient and poor drivers. Not sure why the difference. Something to do with Americans always (supposedly) suing each other or just a cultural thing?

Plenty of stupid driving in my corner of the US. I seem to live in the land of speeders, red light runners, tailgaters and spastic lane weavers.

Returning to US roads was a bit of a shock after seven years in Perth, where drivers seemed kinder and gentler somehow.

We don't have the hoons that we had in Perth though.

Kind of funny considering how much we complained about the absolute insane, dangerous driving in the Middle East, where no one was in a hurry until they got into their cars. That was scary to the point we didn't want to drive at all.
