The Le Meriden on Bora Bora is suppose to be one of the prettiest hotels there. That is per the local people, I personally did not see it. I will be writing more in a different area so you can read there.

We stayed at Le Meridien in Tahiti a couple years ago. It was still under construction - but we thought it was wonderful. The pool is fabulous, the people were nice, the room was excellent. The dinners there were a bit expensive - but the dining room is lovely - overlooking some very pretty landscaping. I would take advantage of some of the other eating facilities for dinner. Our favorite was at the Beachcomber - it's a fabulous restaurant - one of the nicest. It was expensive - but well worth every cent. We also stayed at the Le Meridien on Bora Bora (the most gorgeous place I've ever stayed). One thing, at Tahiti, I wouldn't go for an over water bungalow -it's just not as pretty as the other islands. You are going to love French Polynesia - it was the most amazing place we've ever been!!

I spent two weeks in tahiti this May on Moorea. I HIGHLY recommend a trip over there (at least for the day). moorea and bora bora are reputed to be (and i agree) more beautiful than the main island of tahiti. if you can afford it, a water bungalow on Bora Bora would be fabulous.
