Need help planning 3 days in Auckland
Greetings,
My husband & I and his two brothers are visiting Auckland for the first time in April. We are staying in one of the city apartments. I understand that we don't have much time to see places but I'd like to ask for suggestions for things to do . We are in our 40's , loves great food , museums, nature. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, CM |
Hi, ccmoral.
The Auckland Museum is an interesting place. Our nearly 3 year-old grandson just loves it, especally the dinosaurs and the nature section. I know there are some great walks but haven't got them at my fingertips! Another activity might be to go to Tiritiri Matangi, which is a sanctuary island. There is a lot of walking but fantastic to see the endangered native birds, trees, etc. |
The Fodor's online guide is quite a good place to start your research:

We didn't have much time in Auckland, but we did a self-guided walking tour around Devonport and spent a couple of hours at the Auckland Museum. Their Pacific Islands section is really interesting.

I agree to that. You must not forget to visit the Auckland museum. You will be fascinated with what you will find out from there.

Thanks everyone for some suggestions"

Auckland is about 45 minutes away from some of the most amazing beaches I've ever seen, Piha and Karekare. There's a short hike to a beautiful waterfall right past the Karekare Beach parking lot.
