mobile wifi device for Australia
Can anyone recommend a mobile wifi device provider for Australia.
I believe Hertz now provides this service (I just need to figure out how to reserve the device without a car rental). When in Japan we had a wifi device - good for 5 devices (iphone/ipad)- which was sent to our hotel upon our arrival. Included was a self addressed envelope so we could return the device at the airport before boarding our return flight. We had wifi everywhere we traveled. Is there a service like this available in Australia? |
Why do you need a special device? I use my iPad wherever WiFi is available without any problem.

A lot of hotels/motels provide Wi-Fi, either free or for a charge. You can also access Wi-Fi free at some shopping complexes, McDonalds and other fast food places, coffee shops, local libraries and a host of other locations.
I'm puzzled that you need a special device - I've used Wi-Fi around the world without one. |
However, if you do - which the OP apparently does, toggles can be bought from Telstra & other phone shops, which are in every shopping centre & lots of other locations.
I'm not sure whether you can buy them from supermarkets, as you can SIM cards for the various telcos. |
Could you explain please what a toggle is?

It's the thingamajig you shove in your laptop, iPad, etc to connect to the Internet when you're travelling & don't want to sit in a Maccas at midnight sending emails back & forth to NYC.

Thanks, Bokhara2. I think I get it.
