Melbourne to Perth road trip. What do you think?

Hi everyone,

looking at driving/travelling across the bottom of Australia. People say it's beautiful

found this trawling the web.
aussieroadtrips.weebly.com

Looks interesting. checked the prices looks OK as well. Has anyone tripped across the bottom end of AUS. Any suggestions. What do you think of the website?

I wouldn't go with a group. There is lots to explore and doing it alone would be much more flexible.

Try http://www.nullarbornet.com.au/

If possible go west to east and it will save you a tank of petrol.

Also investigate the golf course. There is 1-2 holes at selected road houses.

Would I do Melbourne to Perth? No... it's 5 hours by plane.. god knows how long it would take to drive. Maybe I am wrong.

Did it once, many years ago. Makes you appreciate how big our country is. But once was enough!!

We've driven Melbourne to Perth several times and usually allow at least five days. Some of the road trip is interesting but a lot is boring. From Ceduna to Norsemen, there are only roadhouses with some accommodation.

Only boring people get bored!

Use all your senses and you will love the Outback. Look for the small and the subtle.

There is no such thing as a boring road.

I rode across the Nullabor on a bicycle. Have driven Perth to Melb a couple of times. A great trip.

its a beautiful way to see the parts of Australia tourists don't see. and you never have to worry about crowds haha! just be careful. always take a supply of water and a spare jerry can of fuel no matter what type of car you are driving
