Medina Grand v Quay West

We are trying to decide between a 2 bedroom apartment in the above 2 aprtment blocks for 5 nights. Quay West is more expensive but looks to have a great location. Any views would be appreciated based on past experiences

Many thanks

This is for Sydney, right? I can't comment on the actual apartments but in terms of areas, if I've googled these correctly, you are choosing between Darling Harbour and the Rocks.

The Rocks is an historic district, a bit touristy, but with some OK pubs particularly in Cumberland street. There are also some very good restaurants in the area: Sailors Thai, Ottoman, bel mondo, Rockpool, est. You are also within walking distance of the Opera House, Botanic Gardens, and several museums.

Darling Harbour is a more recent creation, it's a built up area full of very ugly architecture, and lots of mediocre restaurants catering primarily for tourists. In my view, the aquarium is worth visiting but that's about it.

I'd go for Quay West.

Location is much better (unless you have a serious hankering for Chinese food - Medina Grand is closer to CHimatown).

Quay West has the possibility of great views, as well. Medina Grand, best you can hope for is Darling Harbour, ho-hum!

From what I can recall - Quay West apartments were a tad nicer than Medina - BUT have only been to either once, and several years ago.

Thanks for comments. I should have made it clear that I was specifically asking about Melbourne as we have pretty much decided on Quay West in Sydney due to location

Perhaps repost with Melbourne in your title. I'm sure Melbourne locals can help you with the choice.
