Meal Plan at Sheraton Moorea and Le Meridien Bora Bora?
 

Hi,

I just booked my honeymoon to Bora Bora (Le Meridien) and Moorea (Sheraton) through Costco travel. I have the option of adding a breakfast & dinner meal plan, but I was wondering if it is better to do meals on our own? My fiance and I are both vegetarian, and were concerned with the amount of veggie variety at these hotels. We eat eggs, dairy, and love Italian, Mexican, Asian foods.

Any advice would be very much appreciated!

Why not email both hotels, advise them you're vegetarians & ask for copies of their menus?

I addition to the one suggestion you have received, I would add that you might want to consider other dining options outside of the resort, especially for dinners. You might be able to just have a breakfast included option because of convenience. There are quite a few dining venues which offer good quality meals that you might enjoy better than the resort food.

We stayed at the Sheraton a few years back and found the food just ok. We ate our breakfasts at the resort and a couple of dinners ( didn't have a food plan included though ) but we preferred the restaurants off site for most of our evening meals because they offered tastier cuisine and a change of atmosphere.

When the meals in general are quite expensive, you want value for your dollar.

I don't know about any vegetarian restaurants in particular but I would think that a lot of the outside venues would try to be accommodating.

Thank you for the responses! I got the menus from the hotels and it looks like they have some vegetarian dishes, but my fiance and I will probably not go with the pre-paid meal plan. This way we can still eat at the hotels when we want and keep the option to go out too.

Having stayed at the Sheraton Moorea, I would definately get the meal plan for breakfast and lunch (since you are most likely at the resort at this time) but eat elsewhere for dinner. They have great restaurants around Moorea and they come and pick you up when you make a reservation.
