Luggage storage at Christchurch airpport?
 

Hi,
We will be arriving at the Christchurch airport but before going to our hotel, we would like to visit the International Antarctic Center (IAC) by the airport. Does anyone know whether there is any luggage storage either at the airport or at the IAC? Also how much would it cost? Thank you!

Yes, there's a luggage storage facility in the domestic terminal. Not sure of the cost.

Upon arriving in CHC why not leave your luggage unclaimed and go to the IAC. Then return to the luggage claim area and retrieve it.
The IAC is close to the terminal and as I recall, there is public transportation from the terminal to the IAC. If not, there are taxi's. The drive can't be more than 5-10 minutes.
Once in the IAC, you can see everything in less than 2 hours.

Thank you both for your suggestions. We found out that we can arrange for a pick-up at the IAC. We were hoping to take our luggage to IAC so we won't have to go back to the airport again. Would love to hear any thoughts on this. Thanks again!

Perhaps you should contact the IAC directly and ask them if they'd mind you leaving your luggage there while visiting their facility. Their e-mail address is: [email protected].

Actually I did send them an e-mail several days ago but still haven't received a reply yet. It's the same e-mail addy as above. Hope someone at IAC will respond soon as we are leaving in a week.
