Kayaking in the North Island

What are the best places in the North Island of N.Z. to go kayaking for about a half a day?

Hi Judilie, I live in Qld, Australia, and I travel to NZ on a few odd occasions. My recommendation for kayaking would have to be Coramandel Peninsula

Take a map of North Island . Pin to wall. Take one dart, close your eyes and throw ... rivers / lakes / bays and inlets. You name it we've got it and its all pretty darn good.

After much thought. The Poor Knights Northland. A marine reserve.
