Just returned from Hong Kong and Singapore
 

I'm going to Hong Kong for two weeks at the end of this month and would love to know what your thoughts are on the city and the places you visited. It's my first overseas trip and I'm going alone. I'm planning my itinerary now, so any tips you might have would be greatly appreciated.

Okay, here's a challenge for you. I'd like to see how possible it is to vacation in Hong Kong on a shoe-string budget. What are some of the most memorable experiences you've had in Hong Kong and Macau that a) were relatively inexpensive and b) were a little more off-beat than the usual tourist attractions. Temples, hikes, museums, etc. I'm bringing a lot of film, so photo ops are a must.

Any restaurants you could recommend would also be greatly appreciated.

Hey there. I read in your response that you've lived in Hong Kong for some time and I was hoping you might be able to give me some info. I'm interested in the gambling scene there, in Macau and elsewhere in East Asia. Anything you could tell me about the design, games, architecture etc. of Asian casinos would be very helpful.
