Clifton,
I hope so. We will be thick as thieves. I wish you could be there as well. Aren't you going somewhere around that time?

I do too! And yes, we are. I'd say "unfortunately", but it's not very unfortunate feeling. We leave for Vietnam that week.

Are you sticking around Sydney this time? Or trying some new places as well?

I may have a problem on the 4th, but I see this is the only sensible day for our visitors.

I'll see what I can manage.

I'll have to check with DH as it is our last day to do anything. If not, can some of us meet at the beginning of our trip? We will be in Sydney from March 13 to March 17. I did book our last three nights in Sydney, we'll be at the Intercontinental. Clifton, in Melbourne we will be at the Marriott on March 24 and 25. Still need to figure out where we are going on the 26th. Not sure what hotel we will be at on the 27th. Possibly back at the Marriott.

Let's have a straw poll & see who could come, which date & lunch or dinner. Assume somewhere central to the CBD, unless someone has a better idea, bearing in mind our visitors will be staying in town.

I'll start - I can do Monday 4th April - lunch or dinner

I may be able to do lunch but would much prefer meeting people at the beginning of the trip, not the last day. Not sure I can sell DH on it the last day. Can anyone meet March 14, 15 or 16 in Sydney?

Laurie, I figure the 25th would be good for me. The 24th's a school day, so more of a dash down and back in time to pick up.

Clifton, I think the 25th will work. We can figure out in a few weeks what time and where. I'm getting excited as the trip is only a little more than a month off. When I booked the international flights in June, it felt like it was a lifetime away.

Laurie, I know just what you mean. It kind of sneaks up on you just when you thought it would never come. We were counting the days yesterday, as we leave for holidays just the week after you're here.

Can't do March - I arrive back in Sydney evening of the 16th.

Others may be available, though. Don't depend on me.

If nothing else, I think there's usually some places in Chinatown open.

northie, I'm at the Marriott, Lonsdale St & Exhibition St. Chinatown would be fine. I remember eating some very good meals in Chinatown. If I remember correctly, it's around Little Bourke Street. If I am wrong, feel free to correct me!

For the Sydney people, if April 4 is the only time you can do it, we will make sure we have a couple of hours. During the day, either lunch or a happy hour would be good. Just beware, since we are going home the next day, we might not be in the best mood! Then again, after 25 days away, we may be ready for home. I'm sure I'll be eager to see Opie, I miss him already and we haven't even left!
