Itinerary help

My husband, mother in law and I are going to the South Island the first week of January. We have 6 nights and want to possibly go to Queenstown from Christchurch. Any recommendations?

Thanks.

I feel you haven't had any responses to your query because it is too vague. Exactly, what recommendations are you looking for--accommodations, activities, etc? Let us know exactly where you plan to travel, what your interests are and any other pertinent information (e.g. "We don't want to drive" or "My mother-in-law can't walk long distances") and you might get some helpful responses.

I think with such a short stay you will want to focus on Queentown. Visit Arrowtown, Milford Sound, Glenorchy in addition to Queenstown.

If you are not opposed to driving you can reach Queenstown from Christchurch via Mt. Cook with an overnight. Often if you fly south you can drive back one way without a drop charge.

Check regularly for the low airfares or http://grabaseat.co.nz/ & http://airnewzealand.co.nz (not the US website).
