Itinerary Help

Leaving for Australia (1st time) on Thursday:

Westin Sydney (3 nights)
Bridgewalk, Opera House, Bondi/Manly Beaches

Hayman Island (3 nights)
Relax, Whitehaven Beach

Sheraton Port Douglas (1 night)
Fly into Cairns--arrive at 10am. Leave at 7pm the next day

Hotel Como-Melbourne (2 nights)
Drive GOR, Nightlife, etc.

Is this too much traveling for 9 nights?

Short answer, yes - but at this late stage are you able to change your itinerary? Personally I'd cut out Melbourne and add the time on to Port Douglas - unless of course your flight home is ex Melbourne.

Thanks..I actually increased my stay in Port Douglas to 3 nights and then will spend 2 nights in Melbourne. Looking forward to driving the Great Ocean Road--seems very similar to Pacific Coast Highway here in California.

Bit late for this kind of question, don't you think - can't really see the point? But, hey, have a great time.

I would choose either Bondi or Manly beach since you only have 3 days. Did you book the bridgeclimb yet? If not, you probably should.
Have a great time and let us know how it went!

If you only have 2 nights in Melbourne, and you've never been there before, I suspect you won't have much time for the GOR.

Depending on what time your flight get in from Port Douglas (let's assume noon), you'll only have 1 afternoon and evening in Melbourne, and would then need to drive the GOR and back in 1 day.

Seems rushed...
