Is VALENTINE'S DAY celebrated in New Zealand??

We are wondering if Valentine's Day is celebrated in New Zealand? My husband and I will be spending 2 weeks in New Zealand to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. And we realized we will also be in NZ for Valentine's Day! :-X

Yes it is but not to the same level that it is in the US. we tend to be a little more reserved / laid back down here! you will find lots of shops have related window displays and the price of flowers goes through the roof. most higher quality restaurants will be booked so get in early if you were planning to celebrate with a meal out. happy anniversary!

Thanks NZ Sophie! So we can buy things like valentine's day cards in NZ? We thought that would be fun. Thanks for the reminder about dinner reservations.

Hi Melissa,
Take a tip from an article by a restauranteur in yesterday's Sydney Morning Herald ... dine out the NEXT night & avoid the "$$$$ fizz, 'special' priced meals"..
Happy 25th Anniversary :)
