Is Tahaa worth it?
Hi!
We're going to FP in August for the first time for our honeymoon. We are going to be there for 12 nights, and definitely want to hit Bora Bora and Moorea. I am trying to decide if we should go to Tahaa as well? We both scuba dive and enjoy snorkeling and doing some activities besides just relaxing (which we still want to do as well). I didn't know if Tahaa had enough to do or if it was pretty remote. Thanks in advance! |
We went to Taha'a before a Windstar cruise around FP a few years ago. It was a memorable, idyllic place -- lovely overwater bungalows that were very well appointed, a nice pool, beaches and lagoon. We did feel pretty special being met at the small airport and ferried over to the island, and got a lovely welcome when we arrived on the dock.
The resort is beautiful. There's not a lot to do other than alternately laze on the sand or enjoy water activities AFAIK -- but for a honeymoon, that sounds like an ideal scenario to me! ;-) |
Thanks so much! Sounds gorgeous...and relaxing!

Have you considered Rangaroa? We went there for SCUBA and snorkeling prior to a sailing adventure in the islands. It is very laid back, but the diving in Taputa Pass is amazing. We stayed at Relais Josephine - right on the pass. It is very romantic and secluded. Dining is open air, overlooking the pass and on many nights we would watch a pod of spinner dolphins playing in the surf created by the changing tides.

We were living on a bare boat charter and anchored in several different places around the island. Loved the nature tour and visiting the black pearl farm. |
