My husband still has to work when we go to New Zealand is there any trouble getting the internet off his lap top in New Zealand Thanks

What sort of ISP does he have? If he uses AOL or CompuServe, he can dial up his modem to a local number. If he uses a local/regional ISP, then he isn't going to be able to dial up to it, and it will be hard to find a place that will let him connect to their Internet ports. <BR><BR>There are lots of cyber cafes where you can access Web sites, the Internet, and email; but it would be best if he could access his email through a browser-based system. <BR><BR>If you don't have an international ISP, you might want to consider starting up a CompuServe or AOL account for the time that you are in NZ. Then you can dial a local number from the laptop.<BR><BR>The laptop has a dual-voltage power supply, right?

He has AOL I dont know about the dual voltage I will ask him thanks alot for your help. Debbie

We had a couple hotels whose phonelines would not pick up the dial tone ??? from our laptop. Otherwise we just went to a internet cafe or the hotel computer.

Yeah, much of NZ has a funny dial tone that U.S. modems don't like very much. You can set your modem to dial even if it doesn't sense a dial tone - I had to do that most of the time in NZ and Oz. Here is a list of NZ local phone numbers for AOL.
