New road rules relating to who gives way to whom come into effect in New Zealand at 5.00a.m. on 25 March.

I think NZ was the only country in the world not already using this rule.

I think it will only be locals who will be confused. We were (Currently are 'til March 25) the only country with the give way rules as currently structured. The change later this month just brings us in line with the rest of the planet. Should have happened years ago IMHO.

Doe this mean I can continue to drive like a Sydney driver and not get into strife?!

Believe it or not, New Zealanders would be shocked by your considerate driving if you drove like a Sydneysider. On the whole New Zealanders over rate their abilities on the road whereas reality is we are pretty average.

Good info to know, thanks for posting Rob. That first example has always has confused us.
