Info on Royal Automobile Club of Australia in Sydney?
 

I have just learned I may be able to stay at the Royal Automobile Club of Australia on Macquarie Street while in Sydney. Can any of the Sydney folks attest as to the quality of this establishment? Certainly the address seems to be excellent.

Would appreciate any feedback.

Can't tell you what it's like inside, but from the outside it looks great. It's right down near Circular Quay and the Opera House, if I remember, very close to the Sir Stamford Hotel. You could hardly be better-placed, with the Botanical Gardens across the road, Parliament House and the old buildings of Macquarie St within five minutes' walk one way, and the Rocks five minutes in the other direction. Go for it!

A friend of mine who is in the R.R. vintage club got me into the RAC accommodation. Although not 5 star it certainly was very comfortable and the location is great. It is old establishment type of accommodation and I am sure that you would be very happy with it. I thought that if the R.R club was happy go to there so should I.

My parents used to be members so it's very old! Couldn't find a better location in Sydney - dining room is something out of another century in England! Very dignified!
