In one word...what month is best to visit Tahiti?

...Thanks.

This is more than one word but from my experience ( 2 trips ) anytime from Sept. through Oct. have been good for us with excellent weather. Hope this helps.

June through October is considered the "high" season as it's dryer and cooler and the hunidity is less. I actually think March/April is a great time to go as the water is at it's warmest that time of year, the crowds (such as they are) are smaller, the prices are a bit lower and the ocassional rainshowers are actually refreshing = plus I'm getting away from the last of the wet, chilly weather here in Seattle.

Virtually all guidebooks will tell you that there is NO bad time to go to that part of the world. I agree. Go when it is best for YOU to get away. It's almost always wonderful there.

Thank you DJE and LordBalfor.
Just wanted to know if we should avoid a particular time, or if one particular time is better. But seems like Tahiti is good at any time...

We also went in Sept (beginning to mid) and had perfect wonderful weather in the Tuamotos and the Society Islands

Mid-May was perfect in Moorea and Tahiti and poured everyday for at least 1/2 the day in Bora Bora.

My experience...
December - rained almost every day.
October - one rainy day.
August - no rain at all.
Daughter visited FP in April - one or two rainy days.

I would add that January & February can be very WET - which is to be expected.

About 5 yrs. ago a cyclone went through Tahiti in April. I was in New Caledonia and poor woman from Paris had been in Tahiti--left because of threat of cyclone and it followed her to Isle de Pins south of New Caledonia. So, she went back to Paris not a very happy camper!

Stayed on island and it was very frightening!

We went in April 2003 to Moorea, Tahaa and Bora Bora. We only had one beautiful, refreshing day of rain on Moorea and that was it. The weather was beautiful the entire stay.
