I wonder why......

Have posted a message before enquiring good farmstay recommendation in Victoria and New South Wales but didn't receive any feedback. I wonder.....no one of you there ever experienced a good farmstay in those areas? We are goint to Oz in July and would really like to have a farmstay...have been surfing on the net but not much to choose and don't know those I found on the net are really good or not...so please help if you can! Many many thanks!!!!

Try posting with a more specific title perhaps? Of course a while back I posted asking about farmstays/horse riding and go no answers for a long time, so maybe there just aren't many farm and horsey types here ;-)

Rita- Actually I see you did post earlier with a very specific title... sorry..
When I did a test search on farmstay, there were lots of recommended web sites, but no real feedback. Guess it isn't really populatr with this crowd.

Rita, if it wasn't your post I saw, then there was another with a similar question, and I found some sites on google which I hoped might be helpful (not having any first-hand experience to share); if you don't get a reply from people "in-the-know", do a search on this site under "farmstay" and see if the original post turns up. Good luck!

Hi Rita
I live in a dairy farming area in Southern Victoria.

There are a few farm stay places around our area.

Host Farms Association offer farm stays on working farms, I can't seem to get them up for you on the web. Good Luck
G'day Rita,
here is a link for you, http://www.weblogic.com.au/farmhols/farms.html
That is in South Australia, can't seem to find one for Victoria.
I also know of a sheep station, way out in Outback South Australia where I have taken some of my tours, but that maybe too far out of your way.

Maybe someone else comes up with good ideas for you.
(Idea, if nowbody else responds, come back and post a follow up in this thread in a day or two, that brings your message back up to the top of the list ).

Cheers,
Mike

If you are still looking for farmstay accommodation in Victoria, try www.racv.com.au
This is the website for the Royal Automobile Club of Victoria which acts as a general tourist/accommodation centre for Victoria. You can book all sorts of accommodation through them.
Hope this helps.

Try a place called Millamolong between Bathurst and Cowra...about 4 hrs by car west of Sydney.
