How good is Singapore Airlines?
 

Hi. I'm flying to Singapore, Bali and HK in Feb. from Canada via SIA. I flied British Airways business class to London once and liked it a lot. How's SIA for 19 hours? Also, is Bali pretty cheap right now due to the currency devaluation?

Hi Franky! Per last five yaars Singapore Airlines are the BEST.

Use Singapore Airlines all the time between Scandi and Asia. Competitive prices. If you like a screen in the tray table in front of you with your own selection of movies and if the 5 or 6 choices don't appeal to you then play computer games the this airline is for you. And when I board the plane I turn right not left into Business class but right therefore, coach.

I travel heaps throughout Asia and always try to fly SIA. They are one of the best airlines I have flown. I flew with them in November on their new Celestar aircraft which is great, seatback video/Nintendo and very comfortable seats.You'll feel like you're in Business Class. They have always been on time for me as well, no delays.

Bali is supposed to be so cheap at the moment you can hardly believe it. The usual exchange rate for an Aussie dollar is around 1900 rupiah, at the moment its around 6000-7000! Prices haven't gone up so its a tourist's delight! Have a great time.

I flew Singapore Airlines for the first time last year from L.A. to Taiwan. Of all the airlines I've been on, this was the best. The service was wonderful, it's great to pick your own entertainment w/ the individual screens in front of the each seat, and the food was good!! And that's amazing considering I rarely eat airplane food.

Singapore is on top. No compromises eather you are
flying in economy or business class.
The Chrisworld programm aboard is the most enter-
taining and flexible programm while on 30000 feet.

I do prefer also Lufthansa, United and Cathay.
and Ansett.
But the friendliness aboard SQ planes is just out-
standing.

Seats and food on SQ is also from the best.

If you're flying economy class--try Cathay Pacific rather than Singapore Air. I flew SA from SF to Singapore in early March 1999--cramped..crowded..and nothing special except the inseat entertainment system. CP offers a better class of service for those of us who don't want to mortgage the house for an airline ticket.

My husband comes from S.E. Asia and we always try to fly Singapore when we go back. Last Thanksgiving we made a last minute trip and couldn't get reservations, so we flew Malaysia Air instead. We were pleasantly surprised; it was a very comfortable flight, with good food and service.

I flew Singapore Airlines in December 1998 and was very disappointed. Very cramped and the service is not at all as good as they say. The food was mediocre as well, but the inflight entertainment system is unmatched. <BR> <BR>I'd rather fly British Airways, Qantas or Cathay Pacific. <BR>
