Honeymoon at Sofitel Ia Ora in Moorea

Hello,

Has anyone spent time at the Sofitel Ia Ora in Moorea in August?

I'm considering it for our honeymoon and I'm wondering if anyone can share their experience there in regard to OWBs, cuisine, activities and the hotel in general.

Thanks so much!!!

I haven't been there but our close friends just returned from their Honeymoon there - they loved it - but they had a beach bungalow and said it was nicer than the OWB and advised us against the OWB. They said there was not much to do but the scenery was great !

We went and checked it out when we were on Moorea last year. Honestly I think the location is not very good. The Sheraton has a much better location on the island. Also there were TONS of families with kids at the Sofitel. Very European hotel where a lot of visiters are on vacation vs. honeymoon. Just a thought!

We were at the Sofitel Ia Ora two months ago for our honeymoon and satyed in an OW. We were in heaven. We were (accidentally???) upgraded to OW (we paid for 5 nts. beach and 1 nt. OW but ended up getting the ow for 6).

The Sheraton is very nice but much more expensive. We visited all of the major resorts and besides the Sheraton, we found the Sofitel was our favourite. The beach at the Sofitel is one of the best.

The resort was not at all busy and it doesn't matter anyway...when you're staying in an OW...you'll never leave. :)

I had doubts about the Sofitel but we were so happy we went with this choice.

Feel free to e-mail me if you have any quesitons ([email protected]) that I might be able to help with.

Congrats!!!
