Holding a Koala in Cairns

Hello! When we are in Cairns we would like to go and hold a Koala and have our picture taken. (Know it is touristy, but ...). I have found it in the Cairns Dome, Wildlife Habitat in Port Douglas and the Cairns Tropical Zoo in Port Douglas.

Which is the best? Also, we do not have a car so we will be using public transportation.

Personally,I would rent a car and spend your time up there in Port Douglas as it is a great town for exploring the GBR and doing daytrips to Daintree rain forest,Mossman gorge, etc.
If you are going down to Melbourne we ran into koalas all over the trees on the Great Ocean Road near the lighthouse! They were adorable1

Unless they shampoo the koala before you hold it (heavens forbid, but anything is possible for tourist dollars...), the smell of eucalyptus will stay with you as a souvenir...
