Hi surich,
What kind of budget are you on? How many of you are there? Muck (Wales) |
Hi Mucky,
There are two of us and we are looking for four starish with location close to city centre and restaurants as we will not have a car. We would also consider B&B or apartments if in right location. Surich |
There are lots of 4-star hotels in the central areas of the cities you plan to visit. But if you want a good B&B in Sydney, I recommend the B&B Sydney Harbour Bridge in the Rocks. Check their website for more info.

Having just returned from Melbourne and Sydney, here are my thoughts.
For Sydney, as long as you don't mind walking short distances, almost anything in the Circular Quay, The Rocks, Park or Darling Harbour (especially on the east side of the water) would be good bets. All are within a 15 minute walk of each other, and each has its share of attractions (and all have Explorer hop on/hop off bus stops, if you want to use that for touring). We stayed at the Marriott Sydney Harbour, which is in a very good location for touring. They apparently are available on priceline.com if you want to try that. For Melbourne, we were at the Park Hyatt, which is just outside the main city center (by about 3 minutes), but a nice quiet location nonetheless. A great hotel, although it can get pricey at times. |
