Tjapukai is great. I highly recommend it. Very interesting and nicely organized.

Andrew, first heavy falls of wet season and the road is under again. Today cut in 6 places between Rockhampton and Cairns, effectively cutting off two major regional cities (Townsville and Cairns). State govt is blaming Fed govt and vice versa. Tourists and travellers are stranded, farmers can't get their produce through, supermarkets in Cairns at least are running out of food. Latest promise for most flood-prone area around Euroma where you were stuck is for road-work to commence in coming April. Pretty clever, seeing its about wettest month of year.
