Hawaii or the Virgin Islands
 

We ahve been to USVI several times and would like know how Hawaii compares for beachs, snorkeling , clarity of water etc.

If you place this under US instead of australia, you'll probably get more replies.

Sorry I must have been under the wrong impression and thought that Hawaii was in the Pacific, and assume that you have nothing constructive to add.

I was trying to help you get more responses. Hawaii is of course in the Pacific, but the fodors forum for Hawaii is under US, since we are the 50th state. No offense was meant.

Jim-US/Hawaii or Carribean ARE best places for this inquiry. since I found you though: <BR>I've been to both. Depending on the time of year, water is similar in both places. The biggest difference is travel time. I would choose USVI if I lived in Europe or east coast US; Hawaii if on the west coast US or in australia or Asia.<BR>

Hi,<BR>Just happened upon this - I vote USVI - but also agree with previous post that it depends on where you are traveling from. For us, Virgin Islands are much easier to get to. Just returned from Maui (3rd visit) - once would be good. I like Virgin I. beaches better.<BR>Good luck

Both are breathtakingly beautiful?!? Don't make me laugh!! This is ONLY true for Hawaii! St. Thomas is VERY unattractive and downtrodden and can't hold a candle to gorgeous Hawaii!!!
