2 March travel to Hamilton 2 nights have a paddle boat cruise and visit Waitomo caves.
5 March Travel to Rotaura. 2 nights. Ride skyline gondola, agrodome sheep show and thermal reserve.

Wanting to visit Taupo and Huka falls.
Need to be in Wellington 9 and 10 March.

Theres just too much to see and do,you cant do it all in one holiday.
You just have to make choices.
I loved the Hawkes Bay area - and the north east coast, but had to miss out the East Cape unfortunately.
Lucky you going in February!

It all depends on what you like to do but I would probably go to the Tongariro National Park and give up a night in Hamilton.

When I drove around east Cape I stayed at a motel in Hicks Bay. Nothing special but there weren't a lot of choices and the view was pretty. They had a restaurant on site.

I took a mud bath in Rotaura. They make you wear a bathing suit in the mud, so avoid bringing a new white one.

I visited White Island - a live volcano. This is a day tour from Whakatane on the north coastline. Would definitely recommend if you can fit it into your itinerary.
