Going to Australia in 2 days (12/30/04)---need advice :D
Hi! I just booked a last minute trip to Australia and was told by my passport agency that I can get a visa at the airport when I check in (I'm a US citizen)---anyone know if this is true? I'm having to get an emergency replacement passport and won't have it until earliest the day before I leave, otherwise I would do the ETA visa online app. right now.

Not sure, but there are a few places to check are the Australian Foreign Affairs website www.dfat.gov.au also search on this forum as there have been threads about visas before. Also try contacting the airline and ask, just to be sure.

If you get your ETA online, there is a $20AUD charge. Call the airline flying you to Australia and they usually do it free.

Imanta,
Your Passport Agency is an idiot. NO, YOU CANNOT GET YOUR VISA AT THE AIRPORT. Do your ETA Visa online today, print out a copy to carry with you (just in case). Or, you could call the airline you booked your tickets through and see if they'll do it for you; but considering the hold time/stress of last minute, etc, I'd opt for doing online and having it done! Thanks you guys! I just bought my visa online as my passport arrived this AM. :)
