Stop worrying! It sounds great. Just have a wonderful wedding and then enjoy your honeymoon.

Just a suggestion on the Sydney bit where you 'waste a night'. Can you fly from NZ into a different Australian city, maybe Brisbane or even Melbourne then get a flight that day to Cairns? Your trip sounds pretty good to me, don't forget you'll want time just to chill out, be with each other, and get over jetlag. If you rush about too much, you'll need a holiday to get over the honeymoon. The blend of cities and beaches sounds good.
Kay

Hi,
The itinary sounds perfect to me.
Take full advantage of the night at Hilton Syndey airport.
Remember you are on Honeymoon !!
Congratulations
Good luck and have a great trip.
Muck

Thanks everyone, I really appreciate your advice. The stopover night in Sydney before going to the GBR seemed like a waste of a night but there is no way around it. We can always go into the city or something for dinner? It just bothered me that we had to waste a night on this trip but ya'll are right, we will be together on our Honeymoon,..... Wahooooooooo

I haven't stayed there, but based on the website the Hilton at the Sydney airport doesn't sound too bad for an airport hotel! It has some resort type features. I considered staying there for our last night, but am now planning to return to Sydney early enough in the day to justify travelling into the city itself for our last night. Should our schedule not work out so smoothly, well, we'll be at the Sydney Hilton too. Happy honeymoon!

Just wanted to add that my husband and I were in Oz in October, and we had the pleasure of staying in a Deluxe Room at the Park Hyatt and LOVED every minute of it!! We were on the club level floor or whatever...but no matter because regardless the room, the lobby/bar was beautiful, the concierge/service was superb, we had room service twice (one breakfast/one dinner) and the accomodations, bath tub (huge and sunken) and finally, the location of the hotel cannot be beat! we walked from the hotel to the level 41 restaurant in about 10 minutes! It sounds like you will have a most lovely honeymoon! CONGRATULATIONS! (p.s. lizard is superb and i am SOOOO jealous you're getting to spend a few days there as well!!!!)
