Free wifi

In would like to know which hotels in Sydney offer free wifi. From what I can find on the net they are few and far between. I see most of the 4 and 5 stars charge up to 39.95. I don't see how they justify this when Holiday etc have this for free.Should I leave my laptop home?:{

I was thinking the same thing myself, does anyone know of any internet cafes in the CBD?

During my last stay in Sydney in two different serviced apartments my computer connected to whatever unsecured wireless network there was floating about. I didn't pay for a thing for a month. So test it out before purchasing anything at that outrageous price.

The cheapest and fastest internet place is at the Y hostel near the Central rail station. This is where I went for access to a printer.

Would that be the YHA, Jango? The "Y" usually means the YMCA and that's a fair walk from Central Stn.

OP - there are loads and loads of internet places in the CBD - big, small.

But if you have a wifi enabled laptop then as Jango says, some unsecured network should be available to you.

I'm 7km from the CBD and I have several unsecured wifi networks popping up all the time, asking me if I want to use them.

But personally I couldn't be bothered to carry a laptop around.
