For all my fellow American Tim Tam fans

I've just discovered that Pepperidge Farm in the US is now making Tim Tams. Yes, real Tim Tams! No more hauling home dozens of packages for my family or paying inflated prices at Cost Plus.

Has anyone tried them? Are they the real McCoy?

I've only tried the Arnott's Tim Tams you can get at Cost Plus, but I will - in the interests of research, of course - sample the Pepperidge Farm variety.

Please report back Lee Ann. I won't be able to conduct my own research until next spring.

Yes, I have tried the Pepperidge Farm Tim Tams and they taste pretty authentic to me. They may be a seasonal item, however. I saw them last Christmas in the local Target and then I never saw them again until a week ago.
I was at World Market today and they carry the Arnott's Tim Tams year-round. The price for those is about $4.50 compared to about $2.79 for the Pepperidge Farm Tim Tams.

Hi longhorn - I also posted this in the lounge and someone mentioned that they were being test marketed in the US in late 2008 early 2009. Maybe now they're around to stay.

Oh @#$%, thanks a lot!

Are they in the regular cookie aisle? I usually don't go down there. The high price of the World Market ones has helped deter me from over-indulging.

In the interest of research I may have to get some to test-slam, now that the season for hot beverages and chocolate is approaching.

I assume so mlgb, I think they're at Target. Someone in the lounge mentioned they'd seen a special display in a Safeway too.

Approaching? The high tomorrow here will be somewhere in the 30s. I think the season is bloody well here!

I've tried the Arnott's from World Market - they are okay but agree the price is too high. The Arnott's I've found are only in milk chocolate and my favorites are the dark chocolate. Guess I need to make a trip to Target to see if I can find the Pepperidge Farm version.

I'm in Richmond, VA as I found the Pepperidge Farm Tim Tams at my local Target (thanks Melnq8 for this posting). As I previously posted, my favorites are the dark chocolate ones. Target had several different types but I purchased the only two packages of dark chocolate. I just opened the package and had one - - YUMMY!!! Now if I could only purchase VB here in the States.

Thanks for reporting back Bgale. The results of your test research will please my Mom and brother to no end. I'm happy too, as I'll no longer need to fill my suitcase with Tim Tams when I visit the US. Well, that's not entirely true, as there's still the matter of Maltesers and 21 flavors of Cadbury blocks, and now Whittakers, but hey, every little bit helps.

One thing I'll say in favor of the TimTams, they weigh a lot less than the Cadbury blocks and Whittakers!

Lee Ann, we're supposed to get into the mid-40's tonight..brrr!

I'm with you Northie, I used to like them when I was a teenager, but now I find them too sweet, like most Australian chocolate!

Whoo-hoo! Thanks a bunch, Mel! I zipped over to Target and found a little stash of them with the other cookies. ALL dark chocolate (my fave), at two packages for $5.00. I ripped open a package in the car and had an out-of-body experience as I munched--visions of the Opera House, Tasmanian countryside and the Queen Victoria Market. Aaaah. This was in the SF Bay area.

I'm headed over to the Pepperidge Farm website to encourage the company to keep 'em coming.

I wonder if these things are as popular in Australia as they are in the US? Far too sweet & gooey for my palate.
