Fly into Alice Springs and out of Ayers airport

Has anyone done this airplane routing and taken Greyhound to get from point A to point B?

I have done the reverse twice. The coach between Alice
Springs and Uluru illustrates how vast and stark the outback is. Truth is, the trip is a bit boring. A good book or iPod helps pass the time.

BarbAnn's right - if all you're doing is driving direct from Alice Springs to Uluru (Ayers Rock), it can be a bit monotonous.

However, there are a number of tours that do the trip with stops at Kings Canyon & other points of interest along the way, making it a unique opportunity of seeing something of Central Australia.

Thanks, my guess is we will book a tour versus the bus idea. Is four days enough time????

Four days should be fine if it's your first time out there.

Any tour agency that you would recommend?

We drove 30 hrs from home to Alice, then to Uluru & another 30 hrs home. The beauty of the ever changing Outback was outstanding. The word monotonous never occurred to me, even on the return trip. I think you need to do some road tripping out there to appreciate the vastness.
