Flights to NZ
 

My husband and I are traveling to Aukland for Christmas. I have been looking at fares for 12/17-1/2 and they all seem to be about $2000 each person. Does anyone know if they will get any cheaper or if I should book now. Also which airline is better Air NZ or Qantas?

Try checking airnewzealand.com, CheapTravelNetwork.com and Expedia.com. I just made reservations thru Expedia and will be going 9/16-10/3. I've been shopping for about a month and saw big variations in fares. Good Luck!

I will be there the same time-12/10-1/3 and then fly to Fiji for the next week. I was in the same situation re when to buy and would not claim to be an expert. I paid 2300 (inc flight to Fiji)late July. A friend of mine got a flight last year for around $1000 but I have not seen anything less than $1900. Someone did tell me that it is a busy time of year in NZ around the holidays especially since a lot of the locals vacation at that time. They recommended I buy sooner rather than later since people start thinking about holiday travel once the fall comes.

I booked a flight about a month ago on Travelocity.com for $1030 roundtrip Los Angeles to Christchurch. Since I live in Georgia, I found a ticket to LA for $193 so my total cost is about $1200. Trip is from 11/29-12/13
