Feb/March weather
 

We will be in AU/NZ Feb. 17-March 11 and wonder about the weather. I know it is summer, but is it humid?? Since we live in Arizona, we are used to heat, but not humidity. Will we need jackets/sweaters?

Where in Australaia - it's a very big country and the weather is hugely different depending on where you'll be.

We will be ten days in the eastern part, north to south, then onto NZ, everywhere throughout.

East coast from Sydney and north is very humid in February. You shouldn't need jackets from Brisbane and north at that time, but it's the wet season in far north. Sydney and further south can really be anything from very hot to cool. Melbourne doesn't have Sydney's humidity.

This past two weeks we have had a very dry 45, down to a very humid mid 30's and now tonight I feel a little chilly.

All over the place. During the drought we had the same weather all the time I guess we forgot what changeable weather was.

So it will be warm. How warm and how humid, who knows this year!

Maybe a light jacket will be good sense, but no sweater unless you go to Tassie.

Mid-Feb can still be very hot in Melbourne - but it is heading towards autumn so you can also expect some delightfully mild days. I know it' not much help but the top daytime temperature could be anything from 23 to 33+ celsius, although you'd be unlikely to get more than one hot day at a time. The further north you go the hotter and more humid it will get - and there'll be more rain. You will probably need a light jacket for melbourne.

Depending upon where abouts you will be in New Zealand, the temperatures in March will vary from around 17 celsius through to about 25. Chances are in a few places it will be a little damp so bring a jacket. Also bring a sweater.

For OZ I suggest that if you wear Jeans, comfie shoes and maybe long sleeve shirt you will be fine...once you get to Brisbane or north, you will need to go to shorts and short sleeve shirts/Tshirts, especially if you go north to Cairns. Humidity will be (Brisbane & above) >90%, for Gods sake make sure you drink lots of fluid. You may find it a little stressful, but bear in mind that most places will be air conditioned.

Once you get to NZ Jeans & LS shirts will do, with maybe a light fleecy jacket & MAYBE something a little heavier if you go out at night, early morning.
