family accommodation in london

Hi. We are staying in London next year around the last week of June for 4 days. We are a family of 4 (children will be 6 & 8). We are looking for suggestions for accommodation in London. We are not sure what area to stay in as we have never been to London, however, I guess we are hoping for somewhere that is convenient to transport or central to a variety of attractions. Any ideas?
Thanks

You might do better to post this on the Europe board, with budget range in Euro, and what attractions you want to see.

Yes do look at the Fodors Europe board. But you did get me wondering whether there might be a place in Australia named London. Afterall, British place names are pretty common Down Under. But after a short Google Earth search, I've concluded the answer is "no". But there is a London in Ontario, Canada and a New London in Connecticut, USA near where I live.

We tend to leave other countries' Capital & major cities to them, RalphR.

We do have a small town in Queensland called, "Texas" though.

Yes indeed Bokhara. I havent been to Texas USA, but I have been to Texas in Qld, naturally a magnet for Americans. Even spent a night there. Nice little town!

Hmmm.... tough one. It really depends on what the family want to do (i'm assuming lots of sightseeing etc.). If you're on a budget, try looking at Clapham, Stockwell, Vauxhall. Much cheaper parts of town, but excellent transport links (you can be in central London in 10 minutes on the tube or 15 mins by bus). Also think about South West London - Putney, Richmond (again, good transport links + nice, family spots)
