Domestic flights in Australia? when?
Hi my husband and I travel to Aus in November and we are wondering how far ahead we need to book domestic flights ? Can we just wait until we arrive and then book them or would it be a good idea to book them already now while we are at home? thanks in advance!

It's usually cheaper to book in advance.
Sign up for Qantas & Virgin emails - they both have specials. Virgin has a daily "happy hour". Make sure you check the travel dates. |
You probably don't need to book now for November, but you will want to book in advance to take advantage of lower fares and to avoid the possibility of sold-out flights.
As Bokhara recommends, sign up with Qantas and Virgin and check flights regularly to see what fares are doing. |
Spot on, Longhorn. I wouldn't be looking for any last-minute bargains to Melbourne on 1st November.

For Quantas is that the "Red Email alert?"

QANTAS
Yes. Also check out Jetstar, their low-cost subsidiary. Watch out for add-on costs for luggage & strict check-in times. Sometimes the full service QF fares can be cheaper in the long run. |
What airline are you using to get to Oz? if you book domestic flights on Qantas in conjunction with international travel you get the international baggage allowance. Worth considering when you are comparing prices. Also, if travelling on one ticket you are protected if you miss your connection due tolerate arrival or changed schedule on your first leg.
