Dental tourism??

I am having sticker shock on dental estimates here in New England. Has anyone received care in Buenos Aires? Mexico? Any suggestions out there? Thanks.

Would that be New England, USA, or New England, Australia?

Funny you should ask this question as I was doing research on this very thing myself recently. In B.A. you could expect the highest standard of care but I don't know how the prices would compare. I was looking at Peru and Columbia - the former, I have quite a few contacts there, care is very good and quick inexpensive - the latter has some excellant dental clinics which actually are set up especially for dental tourism and the prices are available on the Net. Write to the respective clinics to get a quote and that way you will get an idea of price. As to quality, most of those who are into dental tourism now are US or UK trained. I had a great recommendation in Columbia but at present the dentist concerned is still "inside" having been caught dealing in cocaine !!!!! However his patient tells me that he had never had a better dentist in his life - so I am waiting till he is free and then will take a little trip there as I would like to hold onto my $20,000 for myself and not donate it to the poor Australian dentist's retirement Association. Other than that Thailand also has excellant dental tourism.

places like the philipines have been gaining in popularity lately because of the low cost and high standards....but buyer beware, do your reseach BEFORE YOU GO.

If you go to the Asia board and do a search you will find lots of very possitive recommendations for Bangkok in terms of quality & price.
