Daintree accommodation ?
I am looking at booking at either the Daintree wilderness lodge or the Daintree Heritage lodge in July for 2 adults and 2 teenagers. Can anyone help me decide which to chose.

Have not stayed in either one, but remember that the accommodations up in the Daintree are very remote. Besides that, a great place to relax and enjoy nature at its best. Make sure to go on a guided tour of the rainforest, well worth the money.

Red Mill House bed and breakfast - nice accom and a pool - can walk into the one street town. Not that remote - only a 40 minute drive from Port Douglas etc - make sure you take lots of mosquito repellent - they will carry you away - but awesome place - don't miss Cape Trib

I'd like to second Red Mill House here too, you won't find better hosts than Andrew and Trish who know the area like the back of their hand and you'll save $$'s compared with the two resorts you mentioned. See www.bnbnq.com.au under the heading "north". Mozzies shouldn't be too bad in July which is winter here, but they are a part of tropical living and personal repellents work.

I'll triple the Red Mill House recommendation. We've stayed there and as mentioned the hosts are fantastic as well as the setting. We hope to be back in November 2007 and Red Mill House will be a repeat lodging for us.
