Cost of shuttle from Cairns to Port Douglas
 
I am staying at the Radisson in Port Douglas and the hotel quoted me A$40 per adult/return trip. Is this reasonable for the area? If not should we take a cab?

Ilsa - that's reasonable - it's an hour's drive each way - cost of cab would be about AUD$113 each way.

It should cost about $A25 one-way per person. Thats what we were recently quoted by our Port Douglas hotel, through Express Chauffeured Coaches.

Updating to the present, 2008. Shuttles between Port Douglas and Cairns or Cairns airport vary from $20 to $30+ one way. The cheapest and quickest (small minibus - less stops) is Krystal Transport (07 4051 7456) at $20 one way and $38 return.

evanrafols - does Krystal pick up and drop off at accommodation between Cairns and Port Douglas as does, say, BTS? Or do passengers have to go into Cairns city or airport for pickup/dropoff?

Why not rent a car? Simple drive and the Radisson has easy parking. Useful to have a car in the area.
