Coffs Harbour
 

The opportunity to take a break and go somewhere within NSW for 5-7 days in the 2nd week of Feb opened up. I'm looking at Coffs Harbour.

1) If I do 7 days, I would have my fill of Coffs Harbour after 4-5 days. Where nearby can I spend the remaining days ; and what do I explore ?
2) How important is a car while I'm staying at Coffs Harbour ? Byron Bay is walkable , in my opinion... what about Coffs ?
3) Any local secrets/tips ? Within and nearby ?

Some suggestions - drive to Belligen and Dorrigo, visit the national park on the way. Urunga ( about 20 km south of Coffs Harbour) is one of our favourite places - good walks along the waterfront.

Aside from Central Coffs Harbour, where would be a good place to stay and base myself for the second half of the week ? I might get bored if I'm just in the central area of Coffs Harbour for 7 days, 6 nights!
