In the south, we are currently experiencing extreme weather. Lots of rain.

Hopefully, the skies will clear soon.

Thank you. We are in Northland currently where there is drought, but we saw this on the news. We dont get to that atea for 2 weeks. It looks devastating. Hope everyone is safe.

Good to know. Hopefully Milford Sound will be better in two weeks (and Dunedin, too, as we receive similar weather). We had the rainiest of days today, and with Elton John performing here tonight the town was packed with visitors. I'm afraid we didn't make a very good impression. Last week was gorgeous down south.

Yes, the drought in Northland is bad. Some farmers are culling stock, reportedly farming families are struggling. Northland kiwis (the birds) are dying of dehydration and starvation, and forced to look for food during daylight hours, putting them at greater risk from dog attacks and from dying on busy roads.

I'm glad we don't have drought conditions down south.

Have a good trip.

Thanks! We’re loving the little bit of NZ we have seen. Off to Akl for another day there and then to Wellington.
