catacombs Paris or Rome

Both of my sons find the idea of visiting some catacombs very appealing. We are travelling to France and Italy in Sep/Oct and I was wondering where would be the best place to do this? Outside Paris or Rome? Does anyone have a preference? Are they worth seeing? thanks

This really should be posted on the European Board. There are catacombs in central Rome and also Paris, but probably on of the best tours for this sort of thing is the Scavi Tour in Rome. This tour takes you beneath St. Peters in Rome to one of the original Roman cemetries and shows you where St.Peter is buried beneath the dome. A "must see" tour. Check Trip Advisor Rome Forum (google) and type in Scavi Tour in the search panel to find out more. Ciao!

oops thought I had. Was helping out with some local knowledge and forgot to change back to Europe where we will be heading in Sept.
