Careful before booking any short-term accommodation on NSW Coast

http://www.smh.com.au/nsw/decision-m...502-2ivyp.html

This story will have enormous implications for people's holiday plans, not just on the Central Coast but in places like Port Stephens, Byron Bay and especially the Blueys Beach/Pacific Palms area, where properly that meets the legal requirements for short term accommodation is definitely in the minority. Very real risk of putting your money down and have your holiday plans fall through and possibly find it hard to retrieve your money. I would definitely be sticking with accommodation that meets those requirements and with the laws of supply and demand, making my holiday bookings well ahead of when I wanted to take them.

There are many people here on the Gold Coast who would also welcome such a ruling.

There are many scammer in this profession. We have to be careful while booking any short term accommodation, I always take precautions while booking any kind of accommodations. User's reviews can serve as the better guide to get the right info.

Hey Stormbird, i didn't realise you are on the Coast too.

I know you're going to the GTG in October, which airline ? Maybe we can meet up at Coolie if you're on Tiger.

stormbird Aug 7th, 2014 06:32 PM

Hi Sartoric - I'm leaving from Coolie but flying Virgin depart at 8.05am and depart Sydney at 6.10pm? What are you times?

sartoric Aug 7th, 2014 06:58 PM

Leaving Coolie at 9.00, returning 6.40 pm. Should we train into / out of city together ? All good if not.

stormbird Aug 7th, 2014 08:10 PM

Definitely think we can train back to the airport after lunch Sartoric - I'm an hour ahead of you on the way down so might make my own way there if you don't mind?

Looking forward to meeting you - wouldn't it be funny if we knew one another? LOL

sartoric Aug 7th, 2014 08:41 PM

That would be funny, although my screen name is a dead giveaway, so probably not.

Yes, you are an hour ahead of me, somehow in my numerically dyslexic state I changed that to 30 minutes. I don't mind at all, so please go ahead and I'll see you at the restaurant.

Should be loads of fun, looking forward as well.

Sorry to thread jack Paul H.
