Can you take teenagers to Bora Bora?

My daughter will be graduating high school this summer and wants to go somewhere different for vacation before she heads off to college. She has fell in love with Bora Bora but, is it okay for a family vacation or is it all couples? Does anyone have any other ideas? She loves the beach especially the crystal clear ones. Thanks for your help.

While it IS mostly couples (many honeymooners) a few people do bring their kids. Our "neighbors" at the Bora Bora Pearl Beach were a French couple with their young daughter - so I know it happens.

In one way at least, French Polynesia a great place to bring children - the water is often pretty shallow and almost always crystal clear - a very safe place for children to play in the water.

However, keep in mind that prices there are VERY high for everything from accomodations to food to activities, so bringing children will add to an already expensive trip.

Also, although some people do sometime bring their children, you probably won't see too many (if any) of them because (as I mentioned earlier) most visitor are honeymooners. So your daughter needs to be able to possibly do without others her age.

The Cook Islands tend to be more children friendly (cheaper and with more kids about) but their winter - though still warm - MAY be a bit cooler than you may expect.
