Can you swim in Abel Tasman sea
 
Abel Tasman sea looks wonderful but cannot find any info on swimming there. Is it safe?

Can you be more specific about where you will be? There are some fantastic places for swimming but there are also some extremely dangerous beaches. Generally, in and around the Abel Tasman NP, swimming is fine.

In NZ, danger in sea swimming is mainly from tidal activity (sometimes unpredictable), not from any creatures lurking in the water.
