Can I use my computer in Australia?

I've bought the adapters for electricity, but
can I use the phone lines to get on line while I'm in Australia/NZ/Tasmania this August?

Diana,
Make sure you bring the right adapter for the phone connection also. If your PC shop cannot help you you will be able to purchase within Oz but my advice is to buy in the USA if possible.

Micheal, I just bought a new computer here in the states not too long ago and it has a power conversion switch in the back. Will this hold up in Australia under prolonged use? Or should I just sell it before I move?

Michael Jul 29th, 1999 01:35 PM

Will,
No dont sell it, it will work just fine - PCs/laptops etc tend to be around 30% more expensive in Australia so anything that has dual voltage is worth purchasing in the US rather than here,
Rgds
Michael

Thanks Micheal! You just saved me a tongue lashing from the wife!
