Campervan from Brisbane to Sydney advice
Does anyone have any suggestions on towns to stop in/things to do as we head down the coast? We are planning to do the trip in 3 or 4 days.

Perhaps it would be helpful for us to know who is in your travel group and what you are or aren't interested in . . . then we can make suggestions that would suit you. Di

We are 4 American university students who will have just finished our biology program in Cairns. We are interested beaches, outdoorsy things, and fun towns. Thanks!

There is no shortage of things to see and do on that stretch of coast. Coffs Harbour and Byron Bay should suit you.
The campervan and motorhome club (CMCA) will be able to give you advice on where to stay. They are certifying many "RV Friendly Towns" these are towns with good facilicities and cheapor free places to stay in a van. If you plan to be in Australia for a long time then CampsAustralia Wide is invaluable as it maps the free and cheap places to camp. Remember - Freedom camping is part of our culture. You don'thaveto stay in Caravan Parks. http://www.campsaustraliawide.com/ http://www.cmca.net.au/pages/index.php |
Hi, I often use www.australia.com and http://www.visitnsw.com/
for independent advice and suggestions. |
There have been a lot of posts here warning against Wicked campers ... just so you know. Otherwise enjoy your stay - it's a stretch with some lovely coastal towns. You might also like Forster-Tuncurry, another town further south than the Coffs - Byron district.
